Damien looked up at the heavy, borderline solid tree canopies as if trying to read a map. Ana would give him a tap on the shoulder and point to the right. “Ah, that’s right” He’d mutter to himself taking a fairly sharp turn to the right. He’d glance back at the girl calling herself Wanda. “There’s sadly no civilization for… well, let’s just say miles around. Except for Fricăras. You’ll want to wait till morning if you’re planning to head out. If you went out now, nightfall would bite you in the ass, to put it lightly. As for how long I’ve been here, uh Peter was it?” The man asked, glancing back at Kajiya with a slight twinge of doubt. “It’s a bit of a complicated story. I’m not originally from here. Not even from Europe, New York born and raised-” A soft patting noise interrupted him as Ana began hitting his shoulder. He’d sigh before picking her up and setting her on the ground. She'd wave the columbine at Meilius with a smile before zooming forward. Well, as fast as a child could run.
“I met Ana’s mother back in the states. She was the daughter of the ‘Boier’ in Fricăras. We hit it off pretty well…” He’d rubbed the back of his neck. “I was a Fink back then. Business wasn’t great. Those big corps finally grew a conscience. Well, enough of one to follow the law...” Damien held his hands behind his head. “I ended up making my way over here and stuck around since. Been a long time since I left, actually. I’m older than I look” He’d give a slight grin, as if proud of his graceful aging.
Sunlight shone sporadically along the ground as the forest finally broke open. Oddly enough the fog seemed to dissipate as they exited. Ahead of the group was a respectably sized town, flanked on all sides by miles of forest. Dozens of beautifully crafted buildings were dotted around in a loose square pattern. Town’s people wandered around waving to each other, jubilant as ever. Most seemed straight out of a medieval village. Damien pointed to a fairly large two story building in the center of town. “I live over there if you guys need directions out of here or got any other questions. Always happy to talk with outsiders, kinda gets stale in such a small town. Just to the right is Pastrav. Shouldn’t be too many people at this time of the day” He’d continue forward to try and catch up with Ana before pausing. “Oh! I almost forgot. Festival is in two days if you guys want to stick around. Don’t expect to get any sleep, though I’m sure you college kids are already used to that!”
